bizHive co-Founder, Chief-Whatever-Needs-Doing-Officer. Have the distinction of spending $20 Billion on marketing, advertising & media across my pro-career. A lot more than half of it was spent wisely, because I never led with my gut. I’ve built big applications & big companies devoted to investing every ad dollar like it was the most crucial ever.
Raised on retail – driven by results an every morning’s flash report. Always a Marketer, with last “client-side” stop at Toys R Us, where I got to launch our re-branding, our Stan Winston-designed Geoffrey Giraffe robot-puppet, & our Times Square flagship (I was 2001 Toy Industry Marketer of the Year – pretty proud of that.) Went to the other side of the proverbial desk in 2002, & spent the last ten years building a portfolio of Ad Agencies that dealt in “hyper-local” marketing.
This culminated in the launch of Geomentum in 2009. Within a year, we were named Media Magazine’s Agency of the Year
bizHive CEO & Kim Feil leads and consults on transformations by working with companies to formulate profitable value propositions to tap unrealized competitive advantage.
She has been a retailer, general manager, consultant and ecommerce leader in marketing, sales and strategy at OfficeMax, Walgreens, Sara Lee, Kimberly-Clark, Information Resources Inc, Dr Pepper/7UP and Frito-Lay, giving her a unique 360-degree multichannel perspective.
In June 2014 she added tech startup to her experiences when she was named CEO of bizHive, a dynamic online marketplace that matches small business owners to best-in-class marketing service suppliers and serves larger enterprises who want to reach and serve these same customers.
As EVP, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for OfficeMax, she led marketing and innovation growth strategies for this $6 billion multi-channel retailer as it merged with Office Depot in 2013, including the national launch of its new Business Services platform and Workplace Exchange magazine.
As the first Chief Marketing Officer for Walgreens, she positioned the company as a leading community health and daily living destination for the company’s six million daily customers. Her campaigns earned the 2011 Grand Reggie and the 2011 top global retailer from Oracle World Congress.
As President of Marketing for Information Resources, Inc., she worked with U.S. retailers and manufacturers on their strategies, led the IRI global innovation practice and launched the company’s ecommerce platform. As CEO of IRI’s in-store merchandising measurement venture, she launched new services to measure point of purchase engagement. She is regularly invited to speak on retail topics.
She serves on the boards of On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina and Krystal Co. and is advisor to RetailNext, Aspire Healthy Energy Drinks and 12 Digit Media. She is a past board member of Roundy’s. She has been named a “Woman to Watch” by Ad Age, Crain’s Chicago Business, and Consumer Goods & Technology magazines; dubbed a “futurist” by Fortune Magazine; and recognized by Advertising Women of New York in 2010 for “Changing the Game.” She is inducted in the In-Store Marketing Institute Hall of Fame. bizHive co-Founder, CTO & Chief Growth Hacker. Had the opportunity to cut my technical & marketing chops during 10 years in the music industry. If you're into pop rock, check out STRIVE® on itunes. Rock & Roll brought me a lot, including my wife. Making music and making great apps are one and the same. Make it simple, straight, catchy. Something you want to keep coming back to.
I’ve spent most of my tech career getting art to the internet masses, first with SalesOptima.com, GoDigital Media Group, then I founded and built the ContentStore.me, a platform for media creators to get their content onto Facebook and websites. My agile project management agency DailyDigital Project Management was the net result of it all and I actually enjoy getting creative people to organize, make a plan, execute it, take a bow...and pay their bills. PMP, Agile Development, Growth Hacking and Lean Startups pretty much sum it up.
